Currents of Survival is a gripping and visually rich documentary film trailer delves into the coastal fishing communities of Cameroon, examining how artisanal and industrial fishing, plastic pollution, logging, sand-mining, and fish smoking practices shape biodiversity and the livelihoods of thousands dependent on the sea.

Why Currents of Survival?

For generations, the sea has shaped our maritime culture and provided for our communities. However, climate change, polution and human activities are changing the relationship between man and sea.

This is a precusur to the final work which is meant to explore the historical dependence on the ocean for sustenance, showcasing traditional fishing practices and highlights the growing challenges facing coastal ecosystems, including the impact of pollution and climate change on marine life. With this trailer, TI4Dev intends to secure funding for a complete documentary film project that takes a deeper look into these issues and how they affect each other.
